Ice Skating

So Matt and I had a pretty nice weekend together...

It started off with Matt being a grumpy bear who didn't get enough sleep (mostly my fault)

And then we hung out with some of Matt's friends who live in Maryland.

Also this weekend there was a Generation Christ event... ICE SKATING!

Here's a bunch of pictures, thanks to PA:

She walked away...

Ok, so this has nothing to do with Matt and I, but this BarlowGirl song just completely described a friend of mine and I had to write it down:

She couldn't take one more day
Home was more her prison now
Independence called out
She had to get it

A fight was all she needed
To give her reason
She slammed the door with no goodbye
And knew that it was time

Now she's driving too fast
She didn't care to glance behind
And through her tears she laughed
It's time to kiss the past goodbye

I'm finally on my own
Don't try to tell me no
There's so much more for me
Just watch what I will be

She walked away
Couldn't say why she was leaving
She walked away
She left all she had believed in

Not a day goes by
For the ones she's left behind
They're always asking "why?"
And thoughts of her consume her mind

God please let her know
The love we tried to show
We'd promise anything
If you'd just bring her home

Tell her we love her
Tell her she's wanted
And one more thing God
Tell her please, come home
Please, come home

95 Miles

I wasn't sure if this has ever been posted... But just in case anyone was wondering, the reason for the name "95 miles" is that 95 miles is the road distance between Matt and me. Could be worse, but the name sounded cool :).

While I'm at it, I thought it was time for a picture. It was taken by Jason this summer at six flags, and I keep a copy of it in my wallet. It's one of my favorites :).

One Crazy Week(end)

First off, I spent the past week (Mon-Fri) in Rhode Island, and when I wasn't working... I was missing Matt like crazy.

So finally when I got to see him on Friday, I wanted as much time as possible before school starts back up on Tuesday.

So I saw him Friday night for a couple of hours before he had to work, and spend the night in South Berwick. We then headed out to my place (Matt slept the whole way there, plus some) and hung out there for a few hours where I finished up some much needed to do's. We then headed out to a little mini-concert thing. It had 5 bands, Heartbeat, FatSoul, Blueprints of the Heart, Koi, and Armada. Most were pretty good, and one even want's Matt to drum for them. It probably won't happen, but I think we both are just a little excited that he got asked, esp. since the band is about to sign a record. I wish I had some pictures for you.

Sunday was Church, shopping, sweatshirts :-p and me heading home early due to a forecast of way too much snow tomorrow. :(

Snow on Mondays should be illegal just for the purpose that that is my driving day.

Laura's little vacation/New Years

Alright, now since Matt and my two best friends Pepin and Bekah were visiting, I decided to take a little vacation. Pepin (Jason) was on break from army boot camp, and Bekah was visiting from Baltimore, so neither of us really get to see them very often. It was awesome! The first night I got there we went out to see Alvin and the Chipmunks (against my will,) and it was surprisingly good. We then went to eat at friendly's... Yum.

Sunday, the next day, was pretty relaxing. I actually don't remember what we did. We went to church, and then went out somewhere I think... Oh, food shopping I believe. Then Karen and Meesh came over and we all chilled and ate some pizza. Then church again, and cafe! Matt, Jason, Bekah and I managed to escape for a little escapade in the snow. We had fun, but got a little bruised because the snow was more like ice. Haha. No pictures for that unfortunately. Just after our escapade, Chelsea showed up. Matt and Jason had to leave at 12, because that was the curfew, but us girls (-Meesh, who went home) stayed up until 2:30am chatting, and... talking about girl things!

The next day was NEW YEARS EVE!! Chelsea left early that morning, but we (PA, Karen, Meesh, Matt and I) went out and picked up a popcorn machine, which Karen and I manned for the party that night. It was also around that time that Karen and I came up with the idea to have a Game show, and we declared it the "Souper Bible Bowl." We spend most of the rest of the day before the party planning that. The nights events went like so:
Run to Starbucks before the party. Bought a mug.
Out to cafe to make popcorn with Kare Bear.
Watch "Facing the Giants" in the Worship Center.
Souper Bible Bowl.
Karaoke.
*:)*
and Finally, watching the ball drop!!

Tuesday was also an interesting day. Matt, Jason, Bekah and I took the day mostly for the four of us. We rushed out in the morning to go bowling before the snow hit, and we did bowl, but we didn't beat the snow. Luckily, we did make it home before the roads were too bad. We then proceeded to take a nice little nap, and then go out and PLAY with Karen and Meesh!! wOOt! Yeah baby, we sleeded, had snowball fights and even snowboarded. It was fun.

Wednesday was date day. Matt and I dropped Bekah and Jason off at Jason's parents house and then took off for our date! We went shopping a little bit for some jeans (Matt completely tore his while we were playing in the snow) and then went to Rose's for lunch (Thanks Tim and Amanda for the Christmas present!) After that we both got haircuts and went shopping again! :) Then another nap time before I left, and thus ended my vacation.
